Naveda Ballet Theater celebrates one of the oldest and most popular dance forms which has not withered or staled with age namely the Ballet. It came into being in 1972, when Vassili Sulich the top- notch dancer of Tropicana Hotel and casino collected a large group of ballet dancers from the Las Vegas Boulevard entertainment industry and presented a series of dance concerts to an enthusiastic public at UNLV's Judy Bayley Theatre.
Running successfully for a span of 34 years, the theater continues to be a force to reckon with. With an ambitious schedule of performances, tapping of local talent, a commitment to outreach and education, today's Nevada Ballet Theatre (renamed in 1998) is led by internationally acclaimed Artistic Director, Bruce Steivel, and ranks high in the nation, while touching thousands of lives in the Las Vegas valley every year.
It now has a permanent home in Summerlin. The 36,000 square feet state- of- the- art facility, designed by internationally renowned JMA Architects, features seven dance studios, scenery and costume shops, administrative offices, a library, three kitchens and a corporate board room with capacity for forty board members and a fully equipped Pilate's studio.
Ballets of all kind are performed with grace. Immortal classics which take you back in time and evoke an era of romance and charm, as well as pulsating contemporary ballets are performed to a discerning audience.
